The pool is nice and while you can't sit at the pool bar, the employees work their tails off to get drinks to you quickly. (They even gave me a can of RAID to keep). *I knew this going in, so I brought my own instant coffee and creamers.* When we first arrived I had ants on my sink, and my showerhead didn't stay upright, both problems fixed within an hour. You can get plain coffee from the server at the breakfast buffet or at the bar, but the flavored coffees are unavailable all morning. The coffee bar that people rave about isn't open until 4pm. Clean linens, toiletries, a steamer for clothing, fridge with 2 beers, a few waters, soda and coffeemaker. The rooms are clean and have what you need. * I travel to Mexico 2-3 times a year* *Sorry for the long review* That being said, this place is cute, but definitely not a 4.5-5 star resort. We cannot wait to return and hopefully things will be better and smoother as they are under construction during these already difficult times. Our server Jojo was fantastic and Andres in the front was so amazing and helpful throughout our stay. I believe it was being fixed because of the hurricane so the lunchtime food by the pool was VERY limited to hamburgers and hot dogs and chili cheese nachos for about a week. The final 2 nights El Charro next to the pool finally opened. we understand because of the pandemic that the hotel was only operating at 30%. Also for food, it was very limited since only 2 restaurants were operating. The board was also by the pool, but not updated at all. You’d have to check that night to really see what was going on. Usually there’s a calendar of things to do in the lobby that’s printed but there wasn’t anything. And I didn’t not like how there wasn’t an accurate activity board. But most Of the time it was really chill. only once there was an acrobatic show and beach party on a Friday night. Saxophone playing, bingo night, live music. Most of its activities are laid back, a lot of karaoke nights in the main gathering area near the lobby. This hotel is more of a relaxing vibe than a turn up party type of resort. Keeping into consideration that we are going through a pandemic & a hurricane hit 3 days before our arrival. Our server Jojo was fantastic and Andres in the front was so amazing.
